The Power of Media

Today's world is saturated with media. People today are constantly plugged in; Cell phones, iPads, internet, TV, laptops, iPods, Xbox Kinect, stereos and so many more devices are daily components in most everyone's life. To believe that these things have no affect on us, when they are such integral parts of the average American's life, would be naive. We hear and know the messages communicated to us, whether we recognize their influence or not. Media's power is used to create both good and evil. We see it embraced by those sharing messages of hope and love, but all too often it is also used for the powers of evil and lust. As an audience, we have the responsibility to harness these powers within our own lives by making media a power for good in our families and homes. As artists, we must use this power to make the power of media go towards uplifting and worthwhile messages. As scientistic, we must make people aware of the consequences and possibilities when media is used for bad and good. Take your part in media seriously and know the power of the media is everywhere.
